Growing up in grade school, I wasn't an avid reader, and didn't much like reading in the earlier years of my life. While I remember some HS projects that required the reading of some selective titles, and writing reports on them, I wasn't exactly what you would have called a diligent student. All that changed with comics. In the late fall of 1979 I woke up one morning, breakfasted and headed out to the back yard only to discover that my parents were having a yard sale. After looking through some of the items that they were selling, I came across a pile of comics. It was mostly back issue horror magazines published by Warren publishing, titles such as Eerie, Vampirella, and Creepy.
